Are you our Facebook friend?

Ok, I have to admit, I am a total Facebook addict.  I love sharing images and keeping up with what everyone is doing!  Its like my own form of crack!  We have recently been using Facebook to announce big news, both personal and business, and I finally began to realize that not EVERYONE is our friend on Facebook or a Facebook fan of Long’s Photography.

And why not!?  You should be!  (If you are not yet on Facebook, you need to catch up with the rest of the world, so I won’t even try to convince you!)  For those Facebookers who are not yet fans of Long’s Photography you are totally missing out!  We announce our latest specials often on Facebook first!  We have had several specials fill up before we even had a chance to post them to the blog or send out a newsletter!  We know our clients love the sneak peeks we post on the blog, but if you are a Facebook friend and fan, we actually tag you in those images on Facebook as well!  Don’t you want to show off to all those old high school friends how cute YOUR kids are?

So, be sure to friend me and to friend Olyn!  (He gets jealous that I have more FB friends than he does!)  You will get to see all the random thoughts and ideas that we have going on, cash in on the latest specials and let us know whats going on with you!

Our Exciting Week!

August 28, 2009 – 11:16 am

As many of you know, Olyn and I were out of the studio for most of the week at the Florida Professional Photographers’ annual convention and print competition.  We are full of new ideas, we have new products coming in that we can’t wait to show off and we won a few awards while we were there!  So, yeah, this is mostly just a post to brag!  If you can’t brag for yourself, who will?  :)

I received merit recognitions for two of my prints–

“Alone in the Crowd”

Olyn also received a merit recognition for his print, “The Last Moment Alone”

Then, at last night’s Tallahassee Professional Photographer’s Guild meeting, I won “Print of the Month” in three categories:

The Scott Family

Who can’t love a bossy adorable two year old??  They are so freaking funny!  The Scott family was back in the studio last week for our August Studio Special and I had the best time playing and laughing.  It was definitely a session I was not in charge of… who knew a two year old could be your art director?

The Richmond Girls

The Richmond Girls took over the studio last Friday!  These girls don’t do ANYTHING in a small way– when they enter the studio its like a tornado swept through!  They are so full of energy its almost like they are larger than life.  They are hilariously funny and completely sweet.  They are my redheads!

Big Boy Henry!

August 28, 2009 – 10:19 am

I want to cry!! Henry is a big boy… I just hate it when my babies grow up!! Henry is the sweetest, smiliest, crawlingest (is that a word?) little boy.  He just makes you smile whenever you look in his direction and its killing me that I won’t get to see him every three months anymore!!

This session at Maclay Gardens was extra special because we got to include Henry’s grandparents!  His last session included his other grandfather, so how cool is that?  Such awesome memories that I am sure he will treasure!

The Strickland Boys

This morning I definitely got a glimpse of what having two boys will be like!  I had the incredible privilege of photographing my dear friend (and fellow photographer) Cindy Strickland’s amazing boys.  These boys are AWESOME– they are sweet, kind, funny and so easy to get along with.   Hopefully my own kids will turn out as great!

Cindy and I have both realized that you just cannot photograph your own children.  I am not sure why, but someone else will always be able to get those priceless smiles and giggles, while you as the mom are left with a grumpy or irritated kiddo!  Cindy photographed Thatcher last Spring, so I was so happy to be able to return the favor today!

The Sanchez Family

I had the greatest time in the studio last night with the Sanchez family!  They are so light hearted and fun, we played as much as we did portraits!  I love having fun families to work with– they make this job a party!
