Rain is the biggest four letter word in the wedding world. It is the one factor that is outside anyone’s control and can create total havoc of a carefully planned event. If it was going to rain at someone’s wedding, I am kind of glad it was Amy and Derek’s. While I realize that sounds incredibly mean, it comes from the heart. Amy and Derek are the kind of couple who can completely roll with the punches and keep their focus on the actual joining of lives, rather than the details of where the guests will sit or which door everyone should enter.
Honestly, if you had not known their Bradley’s Pond wedding was supposed to be outside, you would think they planned it this way! They were married in front of a glowing fire, surrounded by their closest friends and family. The warmth of the fire, the natural decor and the closeness of the guests made everything feel incredibly intimate.

Flowers By Vince did an AMAZING job with the bouquets!
From the moment Derek saw Amy, he fought back the tears. Throughout the ceremony he was choked up and it brought tears to my own eyes. There was so much love and emotion in that room, I would be surprised if there was a dry eye in the house!

With the rain coming down sideways and the wind whipping by, going outside even for just the portraits was not an option, so we found a few spots inside for some romantic images.

Their beautiful first dance also brought out the tears.

I absolutely loved what Myra Jean did for their cake– each layer was a different design and they all came together so beautifully!

The afternoon ended with a birdseed farewell… and Derek’s car received a heavy dose as well!
