You might have noticed the blog has been slow this week and most of our calls have gone to voicemail… well we haven’t been ignoring you– we have been at the annual Florida Professional Photographers Conference in Orlando. We had a great few days learning all kinds of new stuff and getting really inspired again. 
Part of the conference is a print competition where professionals from all over the state enter images for judging. Its a pretty complicated process and every tiny part of an image is scrutinized. In an overly simple explanation, a panel of 4 judges score the images one at a time. If a print receives a certain score, it is considered a “merit” print. Its pretty hard to have prints merit, as it is a group of professionals voting that you created a beautiful image that has style, impact and is technically superior.
Until this week, I have been far too chicken to compete. :) This year, I entered 4 prints into the competition…. and TWO of them merited!! In total, there were more than 600 images entered and only around 50 people received merits. So, here are my meriting images!
