The Watkins Family

Family portraits with a one year old always reminds me of a game of high stakes poker.  You can’t really control what you get and you never know what your opponent has up their sleeve!  :)  This was definitely true for the Watkins family!  Miss K is definitely an idependent soul, so having to sit with her family was just torture to her!  We played lots of games, sang songs and let her run wild.  She ran out of steam at the end, but even her cuddles with mom and dad turned out precious!

The Ray Family

I LOVE high energy, fun happy families– all words I would use to describe the Ray family.  They are a mile-a-minute, full of giggles and as silly as can be.  Needless to say, playing with them at Maclay Gardens was SO TOUGH!  :)  I think I will still be laughing a week from now!

The Hopkins Family

When you look through our family galleries you will see tons of images of familes with babies or toddlers.  There are far less images of families with elementary aged children and even less of teenage children.  I don’t know why, but we all seem to stop having our families photographed after the children reach a certain age.  It breaks my heart that most families don’t have images of themselves past the time when their children turn three or four.
I was so happy to be able to photograph the Hopkins family with their “almost 11 year old” daughter.  These moments are just as precious as the ones of her as a baby and I love being able to capture the relationship she has with each of her parents at this point in her life.  So YEA for the Hopkins family!!

Mandi & Ethan

Ethan was not his normal wild-man self on Saturday.  Even though he has met me lots of times and has always been a total ham, he was a bit reserved for their session at Maclay.  He was very snuggly for his mommy and warmed up to us after a few minutes, so we got lots of great images of this handsome little guy!

The Wiley Family

YEA!  The Wiley’s first family portrait!  I always love being able to create this first and lasting memory for families.  No matter how many times they are photographed over the years, this session will always be special as the first portraits together.

The Scanlon Family

I think its so cool when siblings really want to take care of one another.  I have to say my brother and I were NOT like this at all as children… so I just have to smile when children like the Scanlons are so loving and sweet to one another.

Snow Family

Ok, I am in love.  Brikley is seriously one of the most adorable, funny children I have met, let alone photograph.  He reminds me so much of Thatcher that I am probably really biased, but we had such an awesome session with him and his parents at Maclay Gardens!
