The Next Boudoir Marathon– October 3rd!

Y’all have been asking for it all summer, and its finally here!  Our next boudoir marathon will be Saturday, October 3rd at the McFarlin House Bed and Breakfast in Quincy!

We are only accepting seven ladies for this marathon and spots are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis.  The marathon package is $300 and includes the location, professional hair and makeup artists, retouching of all final images and studio proofing.  To reserve your space in the marathon, contact the studio at 850.339.5799 or Linda@LongsPhotography.com

The marathon session generally takes two hours– one hour in hair and makeup and one hour in a private shoot with Linda Long.  This will be the last marathon we are doing for 2009 and this will be the only marathon opportunity for both Christmas and Valentines.  Our next marathon likely will not be until late spring 2010.

The Boudoir Buzz

Ok, we are getting calls literally everyday about boudoir portraits!  The response to the marathons has been amazing and I am so thrilled to have this part of our business grow!  So, here is some of the latest news!

There is a marathon for the Spring in the works!  We are finalizing the location, date and details!  So, if you are interested in being a part of the marathon, be sure to email me to have your name added to the wait list.  Once everything is finalized, we will announce it to the wait list before its added to the blog.  The last marathon booked up VERY quickly and almost everyone was already on the wait list!

Another growing trend are our boudoir parties!  If you have a group of girls who all want to do boudoir, we can create a party for you!  To have a party, you need a minimum of five girls and whoever coordinates the session gets hers for FREE!  So, if you are thinking of hosting a party, just gather 4 of your friends together and you can get your session for nothing!  Parties can be done here in the studio, or on location and they are priced as a regular boudoir session– $175.

We are also doing lots of individual boudoir sessions here in the studio or on location.  Individual sessions can be scheduled anytime and are a great way to get your session in if you are on a tight timeframe.

Lastly, we do accept a few select ladies for boudoir models.  Models receive a free session and a product credit, but they have to sign a release that allows us to use their images on our website and in our promotions.  If you are interested in doing a model session, please let us know and we can add you to the list!

Thanks again to all our amazing boudoir clients– you ladies inspire me, motivate me and push me to be the best photographer I can.  Thank you so much for your trust and your love!

The Next Boudoir Marathon!

We just finalized the details for the next boudoir marathon yesterday and we are already 1/3 booked up!  Thanks to all the ladies who were on the waiting list for this one, and if you have not already secured your spot, be sure to do it soon before its too late!!

The next marathon will be Saturday, January 17th at the McFarlin House Bed and Breakfast in Quincy.  We have one of the area’s BEST makeup artists on board as well, so its going to be a killer event!!  We held our last marathon at the McFarlin House and the images were awesome– you can see a quick sneak peek here.

The marathon package is $300 and includes location rental, professional hair and makeup and a 1 hour private shoot with Linda Long.  This will be the LAST date you will be able to get images in time for Valentines!  This will also likely be the last marathon event until the fall!

The Boudoir Marathon

The fall boudoir marathon was sold out on Saturday and as always it was an amazing day.  Boudoir portraits are probably one of my favorite things to shoot.  You get to be really girly, kinda silly and you leave the day feeling absolutely invigorated.  I am so amazed by the transformations you see in these women as they pose.  Each session starts off nervous and shy and by the end you can see they are confident, vibrant and energetic.

A huge thank you to Tina Fauble at the beautiful McFarlin House Inn for hosting us, to Jay and Libby for their amazing hair and makeup, to Jenn who modeled for me so I can blog and update the portfolio and to the ladies who participated for allowing me to be creative, for inspiring me to continue pushing myself artistically.

The Boudoir Giveaway– we have a winner!

All I can say is WOW!  We received an AMAZING response to the boudoir giveaway.  In just the two days we accepted entries, we received close to 50! I have laughed, I have cried and I have been so touched by the stories, the reasons and the wonderful compliments I received.  I had no idea I would get so much back from this offer.

One of the funniest things to me was that only ONE of the entries was from an UN-married lady!  I get a lot of questions about boudoirs and how they must only be for the young brides-to-be.  The reality is that MOST of our boudoir clients are a bit older!  I actually prefer it that way– I find that after a girl gets married she develops a level of comfort with herself and becomes an amazing subject to photograph.

It just so happens that the contest winner is also a married lady– and a mommy!  We had such a hard time choosing the winner, we actually had to put all the finalists in a hat and have Thatcher draw.  I am so excited to photograph MRS. M and help her give her husband an amazing surprise!

If anyone else is interested in being a part of the boudoir marathon, please call the studio at 850.339.5799.  Again, it will be at the McFarlin House Bed & Breakfast on October 4th.  We will have professional hair and makeup stylists for you, so its a super glam day of pampering!  We only have a few spots left, so we should book up in the next week or so!
